Located not far from the picturesque St. Emilion village, the 7 hectar vineyard of Cadet Piola is planted to 51% Merlot, 28% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Cabernet Franc and 3% Malbec. The estate has one of the highest percentages of Cabernet Sauvignon planted in St. Emilion as well as all over the entire Right Bank. The terroir, a mix of limestone with clay soil, is the warmest soil in the appellation.
In the year 2012, Chateau Cadet Piola was merged into Chateau Soutard, its direct neighbour.
